How to View and Restore Progress Note Version History

Track changes and restore previous versions of your progress notes with ease

Sometimes you need to go back to a previous version of your progress note. Whether you made an accidental edit or want to compare different versions, Nextvisit AI automatically saves your note's version history so you can easily restore any previous state.

Accessing Version History

To view your progress note's version history:

  1. Open the progress note you want to review

  2. Look for the version history icon (circular arrow with clock) in your note interface

  3. Click the icon to open the Version History panel

Understanding the Version History Panel

Once opened, you'll see:

  • Timeline of versions: Each version shows the date and exact time it was saved

  • "Latest" indicator: The most recent version is clearly marked

  • Note preview: You can see a preview of the note content for each version

  • Restore option: Every version includes a "Restore Version" button

Restoring a Previous Version

To restore an earlier version of your note:

  1. Browse through the available versions in the timeline

  2. Click on the version you want to restore to see its preview

  3. Review the content to make sure it's the version you want

  4. Click "Restore Version" at the bottom of the panel

  5. Confirm your choice or click "Cancel" if you change your mind

Important Notes

  • Restoring a version will replace your current note content

  • The restored version becomes your new "latest" version

  • All previous versions remain accessible in case you need to make another change

  • Version history is automatically maintained - no manual saving required

This feature gives you the confidence to make edits knowing you can always return to a previous state if needed.
