Customizing Your AI Settings

Configure your AI preferences to match your documentation style and workflow

Your AI settings allow you to personalize how Nextvisit AI generates your clinical documentation. These preferences are unique to your account and help ensure the AI produces notes that align with your specific professional requirements and documentation style.

Accessing Your AI Settings

You can reach your AI preferences in two ways:

  1. Click your profile in the bottom left sidebar, then select "AI Preferences"

  2. Navigate to "Settings" then "AI Preferences"

Important note: Settings are configured on a per-user basis. There is not currently a way to set global preferences for all users in your workspace or subscription.

Healthcare Profession

Start by selecting your specific healthcare profession from the dropdown menu. This setting helps the AI tailor its language, terminology, and documentation approach to match your professional requirements. Whether you're a psychiatrist, primary care physician, or another healthcare provider, this selection ensures the AI understands your field's unique documentation needs.

Note Components

Choose which sections to include in your progress notes. You can toggle on or off:

  • Patient History: Adds comprehensive patient history to provide detailed background on the patient's medical history

  • Mental Status Exam: Incorporates psychological and cognitive status insights into your SOAP notes

  • Review of Systems: Covers body systems to ensure thorough documentation

  • Therapeutic Intervention: Integrates personalized therapeutic plans to enhance treatment documentation

The AI maintains accuracy regardless of your selections. Enabling more sections creates comprehensive documentation, while fewer sections allow for greater detail in each included area.

Preferences

Control which AI-powered automations work best for your workflow:

  • AI Medications: Automatically updates patient medication lists based on session details

  • AI Diagnosis: Updates patient profiles with the latest diagnosis information from your sessions

  • AI Context: References prior session information when starting new sessions for continuity of care

  • Patient Summary: Provides complexity scores, treatment grades, and brief summaries to track patient progress

  • Enhanced Transcriptions: Improves audio accuracy and reduces spelling errors in medication names

Model Settings

Fine-tune how the AI processes your sessions:

  • Default Model: Choose your preferred prompt type (like "SOAP Note (Standard)") for consistent documentation formatting

  • Model Instructions: This powerful feature lets you provide specific instructions to guide the AI's behavior. Write prompts as if instructing a medical assistant, such as "Add a tele-health consent notice to the end of each note" or "Include vitals if mentioned." The system automatically optimizes these instructions based on your feedback over time.

Saving Your Changes

Remember to click "Save" after making any adjustments to ensure your preferences are applied to future sessions. Your settings will remain active until you choose to modify them again.
