Why does Nextvisit AI sign me out automatically?
For security and compliance reasons, Nextvisit AI automatically signs you out after 10 minutes of inactivity. This protects your patient data and ensures HIPAA compliance standards are maintained.
What happens when I'm signed out?
When your session expires, you'll see a modal popup indicating you've been signed out due to inactivity. The good news is that your current work is automatically saved - including your note content, current page, and session state.
To continue working, simply click "Sign In" in the popup window. This will open an authentication window where you can quickly sign back in without losing your progress.
What counts as an "inactive session"?
Your session is considered inactive when:
The Nextvisit AI tab or window is not visible or active
There has been no mouse movement or keyboard activity
Your device screen is locked or in sleep mode
You've switched to other applications for an extended period
Tips for a smoother experience
Install as a Chrome app
Installing Nextvisit AI as a Chrome app provides better stability and reduces unexpected logouts. Look for the install icon in your Chrome address bar and click it to add Nextvisit AI to your desktop.
Check your ad blocker
Ad blockers can interfere with Nextvisit AI's normal functions, even though we don't display any advertisements. Consider adding Nextvisit AI to your ad blocker's whitelist if you experience frequent disruptions.
VPN and proxy considerations
Using VPNs or proxy servers may trigger our security firewall, potentially restricting your account access. If you suddenly experience connection issues after connecting to a VPN, this could be the cause.
